A really great news for Apoxyomenos and for the Town of Mali Lošinj, came recently from Bol! In this beautiful little town on the island of Brač a traditional gathering of tourism professionals "Days of Croatian Tourism" took place on 26th and 27th October 2016. This is the event where each year national tourism awards are given to individuals, representatives of the tourism industry and the best tourist destinations.
Mali Lošinj was crowned as a winner of the annual Croatian tourism award for the Most successful destination of Medical tourism in the Destination category, and the project "Apoxyomenos on the island of vitality" has been awarded as "Innovation of the Year".
The idea of the "Apoxyomenos on the island of vitality" was to connect the rich cultural heritage of the island of Lošinj and great revelation of Apoxyomenos in the vicinity of the island and his new Museum, with the tourist offer of the island. Focus of the project was to do it in the interactive mode, so that the guests who have visited Museum of Apoxyomenos can later on enjoy Apoxyomenos ancient kitchen, try Apoxypmenos massage, use Apoxyomenos cosmetic line, buy souvenirs and products based on the antiquity (Apoxyomenos tea, ancient pottery, antique jewelry...), enjoy sailing through ancient sailing routes, explore the underwater world with archaeological sites and other thematic offers travel agencies based on the story Apoxyomenos.
